Republic RecordsConsidering Drake’s complete and utter domination of the charts over the past few months, it’s no surprise that Spotify has named his hit “In My Feelings” the global Song of the Summer.
The rapper’s track was streamed more than 393 million times between June 1 and August 20, helped along by the song’s viral dance challenge. Overall, Drake holds five spots on Spotify’s list of the Top 20 Global Songs of the Summer. The other songs are, in descending order, “God’s Plan,” “Nice for What,” “Don’t Matter to Me” and “Non Stop.”
The second-most streamed song of the summer is Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You,” featuring Cardi B, with 293 million streams. And Cardi herself has the third most-streamed song of the summer wit “I Like It,” her collabo with Bad Bunny and J Balvin. That track was streamed more than 289 million times during that same time period.
The rest of Spotify’s Songs of the Summer list include such established stars as Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, and rising stars like Juice WRLD and Dua Lipa. Slain rapper XXXTentacion holds two spots on the list.
On the list of Songs of the Summer for the U.S. only, Drake is still #1, but “Lucid Dreams” by Juice WRLD and “SAD” by XXXTentacion are numbers two and one.
