Lester Cohen/WireImageJohn Mayer is really hitting the comedy big-time.

He and his buddy Dave Chappelle are bringing their music and comedy show, Controlled Danger, to Montreal’s legendary Just for Laughs festival this July.  The event is the largest international comedy festival in the world.

The performance marks the first time the two have ever performed Controlled Danger in Canada.  Last year, they performed the show a number of times in the U.S., including a New Year’s Eve show at the Los Angeles Forum.

The performance features a combination of stand-up, music, stories and more and will take place July 28 at Montreal’s Bell Centre.  Tickets go on sale this Friday at HaHaHa.com.

As with previous performances of Controlled Danger, fans who attend the show won’t be allowed to bring in cameras, recording devices or phones.  All phones must be placed in locked pouches.  And don’t try to hide yours, either: You’ll be searched, and anyone caught with a phone inside the Bell Centre will be kicked out.  You have been warned.

John’s current run of shows with Dead & Company wraps up mid-July, which frees him up to do this event.  Others who’ll be performing at the Just For Laughs Festival this year include Trevor Noah, Tiffany Haddish, Howie Mandel, Ken Jeong, Kevin Hart, David Cross and more.
