“The Voice” recap: Blake Shelton picks up two more artists in season 15’s second blind auditions

Trae Patton/NBCThe coaches continued to build their season 15 teams on the second night of The Voice’s blind auditions.

Blake Shelton was able to nab two more artists, while his fellow coaches Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and Jennifer Hudson all scored one more each.

The standout of the evening was 22-year-old DeAndre Nico whose family was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. When the hurricane hit Texas, it trapped his family in their dilapidated home for days. Eventually they were rescued, but their home has been deemed uninhabitable since.

On the stage, he sang “When I Was Your Man” and had all four judges turn their big red chairs around. After a heated battle, DeAndre chose Adam because he was the first coach to turn around.

Claire DeJean also sparked a fight among the coaches. The 17-year-old sang “Hurt Somebody” and inspired Blake and Kelly to turn their chairs. The two coaches battled it out and debated the difference between Claire’s hometown of Dallas and Kelly’s hometown of Fort Worth. Ultimately, Claire chose Kelly.

Ele Ivory — a 20-year-old singer who typically performs in caves — did not earn any coach after singing “Jump,” but she has been chosen for this season’s new Comeback Stage.

Other artist who performed in Tuesday night’s blind auditions include:

Keith Paluso, 30-years-old, park ranger
Sang: “Way Down We Go:
Judges: Blake and Adam turned; Blake blocked Adam; Keith goes to Blake’s team

Franc West, 38-years-old, pastor’s son who was in the Navy
Sang: “(Sitting’ on) the Dock of the Bay”
Judges: Jennifer turned

Michael Lee, 30-year-old, married a few days ago
Sang: “The Thrill is Gone”
Judges: Adam, Jennifer, Blake turned; Michael chose Blake
