(NEW YORK) — The Martian Director Ridley Scott has been named the 30th recipient of the American Cinematheque Award.
The 78-year-old filmmaker, also known for films like Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma & Louise and Gladiator, will be celebrated October 14 at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills.
Previous honorees include Reese Witherspoon, Matthew McConaughey and Robert Downey Jr.
The American Cinematheque is a non-profit organization dedicated to the exhibition of motion pictures of all types.
Scott’s next film project is Alien: Covenant, which is currently filming. It’s due out next year.
