Joey McIntyre is joining the cast in the role of Dr. Pomatter, starting on February 5 and running through April 7.
“We love Joey as a New Kid on the Block and know that he has ‘The Right Stuff’ to be a brilliant Dr. Pomatter,” producer Barry Weissler says in a statement.
Waitress marks Joey’s return to Broadway after playing Fiyero in Wicked from 2004 to 2005.
As previously announced, Sara Bareilles will return to Waitress in the lead role of Jenna from January 7 to February 3. Sara, of course, wrote the music for the show and has played Jenna multiple times before.
