Art Streiber/NBCOn Monday’s Tonight Show, Kelly Clarkson, Meghan Trainor and others put their singing skills to the test by daring to tackle Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” during the show’s “Turn It Up” segment.

In a segment recorded during their previous appearances on the show, Clarkson and Trainor, along with Mumford & Sons, former pro basketball player Shaquille O’Neal, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘s Rachel Brosnahan, black-ish star Anthony Anderson and John Oliver, host of HBO’s Last Week Tonight, joined Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon and his house band The Roots in a challenge to see who could belt out the difficult-to-sing 2004 hit.

To no one’s surprise, everyone — with the exception of Trainor and, of course, Kelly — failed miserably.
