It’s Miley Cyrus vs. Dolce & Gabbana

Kevin Mazur/Getty Images via ABCConsidering her unique fashion choices over the years, perhaps it’s not surprising that Miley Cyrus would start an online beef with two famous designers.  But her issue with the team of Domenico Dolce and Steffano Gabbana — that’s Dolce & Gabbana, to us — is their politics, not their clothing.

After Miley’s brother Braison Cyrus walked the runway at the designers’ show over the weekend, she took to Instagram to congratulate him, writing, “I am so proud of you always…from Nashville to Italy!”  But she then added, “PS D&G, I STRONGLY disagree with your politics…. but I do support your company’s effort to celebrate young artists & give them the platform to shine their light for all to see! “

It’s unclear which politics Miley was referring to, though the designers have, for example, criticized gay adoption, surrogacy and in vitro fertilization.  According to Billboard, Stefano Gabbana responded by commenting on Miley’s picture, “Ignorant!!!” and, “For your stupid comment never more work with him.”

Gabbano then posted a lengthy Instagram response both in Italian in English, saying, “We are Italian and we don’t care about politics and mostly neither about the American one [sic]! We make dresses and if you think about doing politics with a post it’s simply ignorant.  We don’t need your posts or comments so next time please ignore us!!”

Your move, Miley.
