ABC/Image Group LAFollowing their performance on the American Music Awards over the weekend, the members of Imagine Dragons are returning home for Thanksgiving, and drummer Daniel Platzman is very much looking forward to his family’s holiday tradition.

“We’ve been deep-frying turkeys lately in my family,” Platzman tells ABC Radio. “It’s a wonderful tradition.”

Deep-frying turkeys is a notoriously difficult — and dangerous — exercise, but Platzman feels that he’s in good hands.

“I trust my cousin who’s doing it, who is a former Navy pilot, and who does it a good 20 feet away from the house in the yard,” he says.

“I’m not sure that’s far enough,” jokes bassist Ben McKee.

Should everything go off without a hitch, Imagine Dragons will resume touring in support of their new album Evolve with dates in Asia in January and Europe in February.
