ABC/Lou RoccoAriana Grande’s “thank u, next” was the singer’s first #1 hit as a solo artist. Now, Ari’s been knocked off the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 by another female artist scoring her first #1 hit as a solo artist.

Halsey‘s “Without Me” advances to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, ending “thank u, next’s” rule, which lasted for seven non-consecutive weeks. While she previously topped that chart for 12 weeks with her Chainsmokers collabo “Closer,” this is Halsey’s first #1 under her own name.

Halsey now becomes the eighth woman to score more than one #1 on the Hot 100 this decade. The others are Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Adele, Cardi B, Kesha, Pink and Britney Spears. Rihanna has the most: She’s notched nine #1 hits in the 2010s.

“I’m speechless,” Halsey tweeted

“This song came out of a very lonely place and the past few weeks have showed me just how loved and supported i could be,” she continued. “thank you guys for everything. i don’t even know what to say.”

“i really need a sec to collect myself so i can properly express my gratitude…,” Halsey added. “i’m so confused and happy thank you.”

While “Without Me” is credited to Halsey alone, Billboard says that because it interpolates Justin Timberlake’s hit “Cry Me a River,” he’s listed as a co-writer on the track.  As a result, “Without Me” also becomes Justin’s sixth #1 hit.
