ABC/ Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — Entertainment Weekly has chosen its top 15 Entertainers of the Year, all of whom captivated our attention in 2017.

Among the actors awarded the title are Get Out director Jordan Peele and Insecure’s Issa Rae. Both auteurs earned critical acclaim this year for their work.

EW wrote Rae “has cemented her status as one of TV’s most unique and unmissable voices.”

Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot, HBO’s Big Little Lies and ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel all earned spots on the list, after drawing large audiences at the box office, cable and TV.

Some of 2017’s comeback kids are also on the list: Pop star Kesha released her first album in five years, Rainbow, after a bitter battle with her former producer Dr. Luke, while NBC’s Will & Grace returned to high ratings.

The publication also shined the spotlight on the stage, by naming Ben Platt, star of the Tony-winning show Dear Evan Hansen, to the list.  Also included is Laurie Metcalf, who appeared onstage this year in A Dolls House, Part 2, and on screen in the critically-adored film LadybirdLadybird director Greta Gerwig also made the list.
