Atlantic RecordsThe Greatest Showman, the new Hugh Jackman movie musical about the life of showbiz impresario and circus founder P.T. Barnum, is out now, and Kesha has just released her version of one of the film’s songs.
You can listen to Kesha’s cover of “This Is Me” via the usual digital outlets. In the movie, the song is performed by actress Keala Settle, who plays Lettie Lutz, the bearded lady.
It’s no surprise that Kesha was drawn to the song, an anthem of self-empowerment about being proud of who you are, and ignoring what others may say.
“I am brave, I am bruised, I am who I meant to be/This is me,” sings Kesha. “Look out ’cause here I come/And I’m marching on to the beat I drum/I’m not scared to be seen, I make no apologies/This is me.”
The soundtrack for The Greatest Showman is out now. Meanwhile, Kesha is nominated for the first Grammys of her career: She’s up for Best Pop Vocal album for Rainbow, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Praying.”
