“Entertainment Weekly” names its Song of the Summer

863

AtlanticWe’ve still got a week to go before summer officially ends, but Entertainment Weekly doesn’t want to wait any longer: The publication’s already announced its pick for Song of the Summer 2018.

EW has crowned “I Like It,” by Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin the Song of the Summer, writing, “The boogaloo beat has been played nonstop for months now and with such a bright, colorful video to accompany it, it seemed like a good bet. Cardi runs the summer music scene ‘like cardio’ and fully deserves the top honor.”

Coming in at #2 is Drake‘s “In My Feelings,” followed by Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left to Cry” at #3. Here’s the rest of the top 10:

4. Robyn, “Missing You”
5. Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey, “The Middle”
6. Maroon 5 ft. Cardi B, “Girls Like You”
7. Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa, “One Kiss”
8. Kacey Musgraves, “High Horse”
9. Nicki Minaj, “Barbie Dreams”
10. Annie-Marie, “2002”

It’s worth noting that EW‘s list is based on an interoffice poll, and not hard chart data. For that, you’ll have to wait for the results of Billboard’s official Songs of the Summer chart, which will end on Labor Day.

Currently,  “In My Feelings” is #1 on that chart, followed by “I Like It,” but the winner will be the song that spent the most time on the chart, in the highest position.
