Brooke NiparIt’s hard not to watch Halsey‘s video for her new single “Without Me” and not think of her relationship with G-Eazy.
The clip shows a tumultuous relationship between Halsey and a guy who kinda looks like the rapper. While we see some tender moments between the two — cuddling under a blanket, having fun in a bar and hanging out listening to music — we also see a lot of angry, frightening scenes.
Halsey is seen yelling at the guy and confronting him; at one point, he furiously put his hand on her face and squeezes it. Halsey cries and sits under a shower alone; the guy breaks things. It’s not clear what the issue between them is, but it looks like it may be either violence or substance abuse.
At the end of the clip, the guy is arrested — we don’t know why — and driven away in a police car while Halsey stands there looking at him.
Halsey and G-Eazy reported have broken up again after splitting earlier this year and then reuniting. Over the weekend, they celebrated Halloween separately, but their costumes were connected. She dressed as the DC Comics villain Poison Ivy; he dressed as the DC Comics villain Harvey “Two Face” Dent.
