The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes & Drake Top Juno Awards Nominees

Image Group LA/ABCWhat do The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes and Drake all have in common? Aside from being Toronto natives, the trio leads the pack of nominees for this year’s Juno Awards — the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys — with five nominations each.

The Weeknd is up for Juno Fan Choice, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and R&B/Soul Recording of the Year, while Shawn is nominated Juno Fan Choice, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year.

Drake, meanwhile, nabbed nominations in the same five categories in which he was nominated last year: Juno Fan Choice, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and Rap Recording of the Year.

Alessia Cara followed close behind with four nominations and she’ll be performing at the ceremony. Ruth B is also set to take the stage.

In the International Album of the Year category, nominees include Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman, One Direction’s Made in the A.M., Rihanna’s Anti, Sia’s This Is Acting and Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams.

The awards — the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys — air on CTV Sunday, April 2.
