Shazam predicts the 2018 Songs of the Summer; Drake tops “Billboard”‘s first 2018 Song of the Summer chart

Emil Nava/Columbia RecordsThe race for Song of the Summer is on, and Shazam has made its predictions based on its song-tagging data, as well as the company’s music experts.

Many of Shazam’s picks are already hits, like Drake‘s “Nice for What,” while others were just released in recent weeks, like “Solo” by Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato

Here’s what Shazam predicts you’ll be jamming to at your beach party or barbecue this summer:

Nicky Jam & J Balvin — “X”: Has five million Shazams already.

Ariana Grande — “No Tears Left To Cry”: Now top-five worldwide on Shazam.

Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa — “One Kiss”: Spent a month as the most-Shazamed song in the world.

Cardi B, Bad Bunny & J Balvin — “I Like It”: Has that summer feel, is showing steady growth.

Clean Bandit ft Demi Lovato — “Solo”: Has already topped the U.K. charts.

Childish Gambino — “This Is America”: Has more than 500,000 Shazams already, and his previous hit, “Redbone,” was one of the most Shazamed hip-hop songs of last year.

Drake — “Nice for What”: Scored 2.1 Shazams in two months.

David Guetta & Sia — “Flames”: Now top-five worldwide on Shazam and has scored more than two million Shazams.

Ella Mai — “Boo’d Up”: Nearly a million Shazams and top-five worldwide.

Dan + Shay — “Tequila”: Latest hit by the country duo is in the top five on Shazam’s country chart.

Meanwhile, Billboard has launched its annual Songs of the Summer chart, which charts songs’ success in streaming, airplay and sales from June 9 through Labor Day.  Drake is currently #1 with “Nice for What.”  The top five also his hit “God’s Plan,” as well as Post Malone‘s “Psycho,” Childish Gambino’s “This Is America,” and Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey‘s “The Middle.”

Last year’s Song of the Summer was “Despacito.”
