ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — Samuel L. Jackson is looking to bring his star power to television.
According to Deadline, Jackson has been tapped for the leading role in a TV series currently being pitched from Black Sails co-creator Jonathan E. Steinberg and Handmaid’s Tale executive producer Warren Littlefield.
The potential series, titled Old Man, is based on the 2017 novel by Thomas Perry. Similar to the book, the series is set to follow widower Dan Chase, played by Jackson, who is an “average Vermont retiree” with a dark secret. After being on the run for many years from people who want him dead, Chase suddenly finds himself caught “in the crosshairs.”
Deadline says the series is currently being pitched to the likes of FX, TNT, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, with “multiple offers” already on the table.
