Tina Truong, who is Rihanna's assistant, shared images and video Monday of the incognito pop star dancing in the streets as protestors chant and bang drums in support of the Asian community.
"This is what solidarity looks like," she captioned the series of images depicting her and Rihanna waving signs condemning racism. Truong also enclosed the hashtags "#stopaapihate" "#stopasianhate" and "#callitahatecrime" in her post.
Rihanna looks unrecognizable among the crowd, choosing to wear a black face mask, sunglasses, black baseball cap, a black leather letterman jacket, leather pants and high tops. Her hair is styled in braids.
The singer's disguise was so convincing, Truong shared a hilarious video to her Instagram stories of Rihanna sharing her Instagram with another protestor, who asks in disbelief upon loading her page, "That's you?!"
"When Rih gives you her IG handle but you think she trolling," Truong captioned the exchange and included a laughing emoji.
Other highlights in her stories share glances of her and Rihanna preparing for the rally and creating brightly colored signs. One sign reads "'Bad day' ?! Call it a hate crime" while another, which Rihanna put together, claims "Hate = racism against God!"
Truong also took a moment to discuss solidarity among minorities by sharing images of Asians around the world rallying for Black Lives Matter — even sharing a still where she attended a BLM rally last summer.
"No dancing videos that time around [because] of the chaos," she explained in a subsequent story. "These causes are not exclusive! Only through unity can we combat hatred, so – 'Tell ya friends to pull up!'"
