(LOS ANGELES) — Prince’s ex-wives Manuela Testolini and Mayte Garcia held a very private memorial for the late music legend Wednesday in Los Angeles.
A source tells E! Online the women, “wanted to have a somber memorial since they weren’t allowed at the other one” and that the top-secret event was attended by only those closest to the “Purple Rain” singer, including musician Herbie Hancock, talk show host Tavis Smiley, and burlesque queen Dita Von Teese.
Hours before the event, Spike Lee posted parts of his outfit on Instagram, along with the caption, “Purple beret and purple Kobe’s for Prince memorial tonight in El Lay.”
The event was so exclusive that TMZ reports one of Prince’s family members claims not to have heard about it.
Prince died late last month at age 57.
