Jiro-SchneiderThanks to a new album’s worth of a cappella material, Pentatonix promises fans an “entirely brand new show” for their summer tour. The North American trek kicks off tonight in Salt Lake City, Utah.

“I’m really excited for this tour because I think for a while we were recycling old songs like back and forth into our set and now that we’ve come out with this album we have an entire new roster of things we can do,” group member Kirstin Maldonado tells ABC Radio.

She adds, “I think people will be excited. It’ll be like an entirely brand new show. I know I’m excited!”

Pentatonix will be performing songs off PTX Presents: Top Pop, Vol. 1, which features a collection of the group’s own versions of modern pop songs, including Camila Cabello‘s “Havana.” Kirstin says she can’t wait to see how the crowd responds.

“The energy that a crowd gives you is so amazing and so fun because when the crowd’s having fun it makes us even more excited and it feels like we’re all having fun together,” she says. “It’s like a big party.”

The group has also found its groove with new member Matt Sallee, who officially replaced Avi Kaplan in February. Kirstin says he “fit right in” with the group.

“He’s so charismatic on stage,” she says. “I’m like, ‘I wanna be like that!’”
