John Legend, OneRepublic featured on new season of PBS’ “Live from the Artists Den”

ABC/Eddy ChenJohn Legend and OneRepublic are among the stars featured on the new season of the long-running PBS series Live from the Artists Den.  Each episode features artists performing in unique and meaningful settings across the country.

John Legend stars in the premiere episode, first airing Thursday, September 7, but check your local listings.  He taped his performance at at Harlem’s Riverside Church in New York City, the site of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break the Silence” speech.

In a statement, John says, “I grew up playing in the church, so when I come back to the church, I feel a sense of nostalgia and connection that is really at the core of who I am as an artist.”

OneRepublic’s episode was taped at Park City, Utah, during the Sundance Film Festival and includes hits like “Counting Stars” and “Good Life.”  In a statement, singer Ryan Tedder says, “Things like Sundance, they’re necessary to foster great ideas. You need to have venues where you have the ability to grow.”

Other artists appearing this season include country superstars Lady Antebellum, from the United Palace Theater in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York, and alt-rockers Fleet Foxes.
