Sarah PiantadosiBack in 2013, before anyone really knew who he was, James Bay got to open for the Rolling Stones when they played London’s Hyde Park.  Now that James is kind of a big deal himself, he’s once again opening for the legendary rock band.

Mick Jagger and the boys have tapped James to warm up the crowd at their show in London this June. He wrote on Twitter, “IS THIS FOR REAL? It’s an absolute honour to announce I’m supporting @RollingStones at London’s Twickenham Stadium on 19th June.”

James is just one of a handful of well-known acts who’ll be opening for the Stones on their upcoming U.K. tour.  Others who’ll be doing the honors include Florence + the Machine, ex-Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, ex-Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft, and British ska legends The Specials.

James kicks off a U.K. and European tour on May 29.  He’ll bring the tour to the U.S. in September, in support of his sophomore album, Electric Light.
