Image Group LA/ABCWill new music from Lorde finally arrive this week? It appears so, if a commercial aired in the musician’s native New Zealand is to be believed.
The commercial in question, which was captured on YouTube, shows Lorde sitting in the back of a car while what seems like new music plays in the background. The screen then flashes two dates in two locations: March 2 in New York City and March 3 in New Zealand.
It would make sense if Lorde’s new single dropped this week: she’s been working on her sophomore album, the follow-up to 2013’s Pure Heroine, and she’s scheduled to perform on Saturday Night Live on March 11.
Lorde also will be hitting the festival circuit this summer with appearances at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Governors Ball and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
