HarperCollins PublishersJustin Timberlake is officially a published author.

Hindsight: & All the Things I Can’t See in Front of Me, the singer’s book filled with photos and anecdotes about his life and career, comes out today.

In an exclusive excerpt obtained by Entertainment Weekly, Justin candidly recounts how he and wife Jessica Biel got together, and why she ultimately inspired the song “Mirrors.” He writes that they first met at a surprise party in Hollywood.

“I made some sort of sarcastic comment, really dry,” he says. “Nobody got it except her.”

They danced and chatted that night but Justin didn’t get Jessica’s number. He didn’t stop thinking about her, though, so when a mutual friend offered to bring Jessica along to Justin’s first show for his FutureSex/LoveSounds tour, he was on board.

After the show, Justin gave Jessica and her friends a ride back to L.A. and before they parted ways, he asked for Jessica’s number. They talked on the phone for about two weeks before starting to date — and the rest, as they say, is history.

“We’ve had a lot of unforgettable times,” Justin writes. “She’s become a huge influence on my life, and I have such admiration for her, especially seeing her as a mother now.”

He adds, “She changed me. She changed my life. All of that is in ‘Mirrors.’ Not the details. But the way it felt to have my life be touched by her.”

Justin and Jessica married in 2012 and have a three-year-old son together, Silas.
