KIDinaKORNER/Interscope RecordsDan Reynolds has teamed up famed film composer Hans Zimmer for a new song called “Skipping Stones.”

The track, available now for digital download, is featured in the Imagine Dragons frontman’s upcoming documentary Believer, which follows his journey to bridge the gap between his Mormon faith and the LGBTQ community.

“‘Skipping Stones’ is a song about feeling lost in life and upset with the state of things,” says Reynolds. “I wrote it for the film to convey my feelings about the state of things within my community and a desire for change.”

Reynolds adds that working with Zimmer, who’s known for his work on films such as InceptionGladiator and The Dark Knight, is “truly a dream realized.”

“He is a musical genius and even more importantly a powerful, humble and gentle man,” Reynolds says of the composer. “He was so passionate about the cause and wanted to be a part of it. He set aside everything to score the film and work on the song. I’m very proud of the end result.”

“When I heard about Believer and the incredible work Dan is doing to help promote change, love, and acceptance within his church, I wanted to be part of it,” Zimmer adds.

“This is too important not to get involved, to stay silent. Music connects us all. And if you listen to Dan’s music that comes so from his heart, maybe you’ll start listening to each other’s hearts.”

Believer premieres this Monday, June 25 on HBO.
