In the visual for “Tell Me You Love Me,” the singer walks down the aisle with Grey’s Anatomy actor Jesse Williams.
The clip begins with Jesse proposing to Demi, but then shows scenes of the two fighting over jealousy issues. “It’s possible we’re not ready,” Jesse says. To which Demi responds, “We’re ready. I’ve never been more ready.”
The song kicks in and the wedding commences, but things quickly go from blissful to heartbreaking when Jesse decides he can’t go through with it and leaves Demi at the altar. The video ends with her standing alone in her wedding dress and removing her engagement ring.
Demi explains the meaning of the song in a statement, saying, it’s “one of my favorites, which is why I named my album after it. I not only love singing it but I think the underlying meaning is important for people to know. At the end of the day you have everything you need standing right in front of you. And that’s yourself.”
She adds, “Shooting this video was really fun too! We had a full on wedding and my best friends were even my bridesmaids and groomsmen. The locations were absolutely beautiful. It was perfect and I’m so excited to show everyone!”
