Demi Lovato’s #1 touring goal: “Always outdo yourself”

Eric Ray DavidsonDemi Lovato just announced a 2018 tour in support of her new album, Tell Me You Love Me.  The trek, with DJ Khaled, will get underway in February.  While Demi’s been a touring musician since 2008, she says she always has the same goal for every new one she plans.

“Always outdo yourself,” she tells ABC Radio. “And definitely do something different, so it doesn’t feel like the last tour that you did.”

Demi’s last big tour was the 2016 Future Now co-headlining trek with her pal Nick Jonas, in support of her album Confident.  While her tour with Khaled may be bigger and more elaborate, Demi says it still may not measure up to the fun she had last time around.

“It’s gonna be hard to beat the stage that we had and it’s gonna be hard to beat a partner on the tour like Nick was,” she tells ABC Radio. “We headlined the tour together and it’s gonna be hard to beat that, ‘cause we’re really close.”

Just how close are Nick and Demi?  Some fans believe that the song “Ruin the Friendship,” on Tell Me You Love Me, is about her desire to be more than buddies with Nick, but Demi hasn’t confirmed that.

Tickets for Demi’s new tour go on sale to the general public November 3.
