Christian Petersen/Getty ImagesFollowing Demi Lovato‘s hospitalization on Tuesday afternoon, Charlie Puth dedicated his hit “See You Again” to the singer during his show in Camden, NJ that night.
“This song goes out to Demi Lovato,” Charlie says in fan-shot video. ” I hope she makes a quick, quick recovery and our prayers are with her.” He then performed the chart-topping, Grammy-nominated song from Furious 7.
As Billboard notes, during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this year, Charlie told Ellen, “Demi and I did this New Year’s Eve thing, and then she touched my arm in a certain way, so I feel like her and I had a special connection.”
Meanwhile, Luis Fonsi, Demi’s duet partner on the bilingual song “Echame La Culpa,” posted a photo of the two of them together on Instagram. He captioned it, “You’re a strong, talented, bright soul and you will overcome this. The world is on your side!”
He also added, in Spanish, “I embrace you from a distance and I know that you have strength and courage to overcome this situation. My prayers are with you. I love you, friend.”
Katy Perry added her voice to the chorus of well-wishers, tweeting, “love & strength to you @ddlovato we’re all here for you baby girl.” Bruno Mars added, “Sending love and prayers to Demi Lovato.” And Cardi B chimed in, “We love you Demi Lovato.”
On Tuesday, Demi was taken to the hospital following a suspected drug overdose. Her rep issued a statement yesterday saying, “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support.”
