Sean ErikssonAvicii‘s death on April 20 has sent his albums and songs back into Billboard’s dance/electronic charts.

The EDM superstar, born Tim Bergling, died in the Middle Eastern country of Oman.  His 2013 album True has re-entered the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart at #1.  His 2017 EP AVICI (01) re-enters at #2, while his 2015 album Stories returns at #4.

On the Hot/Dance Electronic Songs chart, Avicii’s worldwide hits “Wake Me Up,” “Levels” and “Hey Brother” enter at #2, #4 and #7 respectively.  On the Dance/Electronic Sales and Streaming charts, “Wake Me Up” has experienced increases of 1,965 percent and 718 percent respectively.

Fellow EDM star Nicky Romero, a longtime friend of Avicii’s who’s also worked with David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Sia, tells ABC Radio that he doesn’t know the details surrounding Avicii’s death, but feels like it’s a wake-up call.

“I would love to know to everything about it….it’s just a friend that I know since day one,” the Dutch DJ tells ABC Radio. “It’s just someone who’s just as old as I was, [with] the same kind of progress that we made throughout our careers…it gets very close.”

“I think this has to be an alarm for, especially, the EDM world and the deejay world, that we have to take care of each other,” he adds.

Singer/songwriter Rozes, who’s appeared on hits by the Chainsmokers and Cash Cash, tells ABC Radio she wouldn’t be here today without Avicii’s help in bringing the EDM sound to the world of pop music.

“He’s leaving behind so much amazing music and he’s kind of [made] a path for a lot of people,” she says. “Like, for myself, I mean, he’s opened up doorways that I would have never had without him.”
