As Ally Brooke Hernandez Goes “Mad” with New Cover, Snippet of Possible New Fifth Harmony Music

Sasha SamsonovaFifth Harmony‘s Ally Brooke Hernandez has just released a solo performance online, but it seems more a comment on the times we live in than an indication that she’s starting her own career outside the group.

Ally posted a video on Twitter of her sitting in front of a fireplace, accompanied by an acoustic guitar player, as she sings “Mad World,” the ’80s hit by Tears for Fears.  Her version is based on the slowed-down one by Gary Jules that appeared in the movie Donnie Darko, and which was later performed on American Idol by Adam Lambert.

Meanwhile, Harmonizers are flipping out over the fact that producer Sebastian Kole live-streamed himself work in the studio with Ally and her group mate Dinah Jane.  During the stream, posted on MTV.com, there’s a snippet of music in the background that sounds like it possibly features Ally and Dinah Jane singing on it.

Kole, who co-wrote Alessia Cara‘s hits “Here” and “Scars to Your Beautiful,” later tweeted, “So….what did i learn today….don’t try to keep secrets with the #harmonizers.”
