Alessia Cara and Zedd will team up to perform their summer hit “Stay,” while Hailee Steinfeld, Alesso, watt and superstar country duo Florida Georgia Line will take the stage to perform their hit collaboration, “Let Me Go.” Alessia’s nominated for Favorite Female Artist this year; Florida Georgia Line is up for Favorite Country Duo or Group.
In addition, Portugal. The Man will perform their inescapable hit “Feel It Still” on the telecast, while Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line will team up to perform “Meant to Be” exclusively for Xfinity TV customers, which will be available following the show via Xfinity On Demand.
Meanwhile, viewers will have a chance vote one American Idol contestant through to Hollywood even before the show premieres in March. Audition videos from hopefuls who didn’t make it through the first round will be broadcast live during the American Music Awards. You can then vote online via AmericanIdol.com/vote.
The singer who gets the most votes during the AMAs will get a Golden Ticket to Hollywood. Lionel Richie will announce the winner live November 20 during ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
