Netflix(NEW YORK) — David Letterman’s talk show deal with Netflix was revealed in August of last year.  Now we know exactly when he’ll return to TV — and the A-list guest who’ll be his first interview.

Netflix has announced My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, as the show’s titled, will debut January 12.  His first guest?  Former President Barack Obama, in his first TV talk show appearance since leaving office a year ago this month.

Subsequent episodes — six in all, rolled out one every month — will feature George Clooney, Jay-Z, Tina Fey, Howard Stern, and human rights icon and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.

According to Netflix, the guests were picked because Letterman finds them “fascinating.” Each episode will feature field segments that “will bring Dave to locations far and wide, expressing his curiosity and desire to dig deeper on a specific topic related to the iconic guest featured in the episode.”

Letterman first hosted Late Night with David Letterman on NBC from 1982 to 1993, then jumped to CBS, where he hosted Late Show with David Letterman from 1993 until his final broadcast on May 20, 2015, making him the longest-serving late-night host in American television history.
