The singer has hinted in recent weeks that new music is coming soon. He’s now posted a cheeky photo of himself holding a microphone in a, er, “strategic location” on his body, along with the caption “rehearsing.”
Lorde, for one, noticed the provocative picture, and responded, “OK hot pants.”
Sam responded with a compliment on Lorde’s MTV VMA performance, where she performed an interpretive dance to a recording of her song “Homemade Dynamite” because she was too sick to sing.
“you killed that VMA stage, you beauty,” Sam wrote.
Of course, Lorde and Sam aren’t really flirting romantically, since Sam’s gay. But they are friendly — perhaps they became that way through their mutual friend, Taylor Swift?
On Instagram, Sam posted a less overtly sexy picture of him smiling, with the same “rehearsing” caption.
Sam’s new album, when it arrives, will be the follow-up to his Grammy-winning smash In the Lonely Hour, which came out three years ago.
