Denise TruscelloBritney Spears is going to make a “big announcement” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Thursday, and it’s assumed that she’s going to reveal the details of a brand-new Las Vegas residency. Britain’s Daily Mail reports that Britney will indeed announce that, and in doing so, she’ll be come the highest-paid entertainer on the Las Vegas Strip.

The paper reports that under her new deal at the 5,200-seat Park Theater at the Park MGM Las Vegas — where Lady Gaga is going to start her residency in December — Britney will make $507,000 per show.  That would break the record, previously held by Celine Dion, of $476,000 per night.

Britney’s previous residency show, Piece of Me, at the Planet Hollywood venue formerly known as the AXIS Theater, had a super-successful four-year run, and grossed nearly 138 million bucks over 248 shows.  When the show closed last December, she was pulling in $400,000 per night.

According to the Daily Mail, Britney had a non-compete clause, which is why she has to wait until 2019 to announce her new residency, and the show will likely start in the spring.

In addition to Lady Gaga, other acts who’ve either had, will have or currently have residencies at the Park Theater include Aerosmith, Queen + Adam Lambert and Ricky Martin.
