NABILAs the first member to officially leave One Direction, it’s not surprising that Zayn would try to distance himself from the group somewhat, but now he’s claiming that he doesn’t consider any of his former 1D group mates friends.
Speaking to British Vogue, Zayn says even after spending five years in One Direction, he never felt like he’d made friends with Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Harry Styles or Liam Payne.
“I have always been a bit like that, though — always a bit of an island. I don’t like to confer with too many people,” Zayn tells British Vogue. When asked if he ever sees the rest of the guys, he says, “Nah. I ain’t spoke to any of them for a long time, to be honest with you. That’s just the way it is.”
“There’s things that happen and things that were said after I left… Snide things. Small things that I would never have expected,” he adds mysteriously.
Apparently, Zayn doesn’t need anyone but girlfriend Gigi Hadid, with whom he lives in New York City.
“Everything is great,” he says of their relationship. “She’s super-organized and I’m really not. It helps that she can get things together for me a little bit. I lean on her a lot.”
Meanwhile, on the West Coast, Harry Styles is having trouble selling his L.A. home, according to Variety. After buying the modern villa in 2016 for just under $7 million, he put it back on the market 18 months later for $8.45 million. He’s since dropped it to just under $8 million, and now he’s slashed the price again, to $7.495 million.
Finally, 1D’s video for “What Makes You Beautiful” has crossed the one-billion-view mark on YouTube, seven years after it came out.
