Miley Cyrus releases new single and video, “Younger Now”

RCA RecordsOn Friday at midnight, Miley Cyrus released the title track of her forthcoming album, due September 29. The song, “Younger Now,” was accompanied by an elaborate video.

The new song was written by Miley with music written and produced by Miley and Oren Yoel. The video for the pulsing track was directed by Miley and Diane Martel with choreography by Michael Rooney. It features the Miley paying homage to Elvis Presley, with hair and outfits, perfectly timed with the 40-year anniversary of his death this week. Cyrus has long spoke of her love and admiration for Elvis, whom she considers one of her biggest inspirations.

“I’m not afraid of who I used to be/no one stays the same,” sings Miley. “I feel so much younger now.”

Miley is set to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 27, where her single “Malibu,” is nominated for Best Pop. Next month she’ll return as a coach for the 13th season of The Voice which premieres September 25 on NBC.

Younger Now is available for pre-order now at all digital retail providers.
