Republic RecordsJessie J tackles self-empowerment and body positivity in her new song, “Queen”
The R&B-tinged jam includes encouraging messages to women who may not feel like they’re good enough. In the song, Jessie repeats the mantra, “I love my body/I love my skin/I am a goddess/I am a queen.”
Jessie explains the inspiration behind the song, telling her fans in a statement, “I wrote this song because we ALL need to remind ourselves more out-loud how beautiful we are inside out. Simple. This isn’t just another song for me this is a way of thinking and a mantra we all deserve. Thank you for your unconditional love and support. I love you all.”
“Queen” is the first official single off Jessie J’s upcoming album. R.O.S.E, due in 2018.
