Columbia RecordsHappy Friday — and to kick off your weekend, we’ve got “Sign of the Times,” the first solo single from Harry Styles.
The song is most definitely a ballad — in fact, it doesn’t sound all that far from a 1970s classic rock power ballad, with a little Elton John and a few other classic bands thrown in.
Harry promised on March 31 to release “Sign of the Times” today. He’s now the fourth member of One Direction to release solo material, following Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. The fifth member of the original group, Liam Payne, just became a father, but he has solo music in the works as well.
Harry will perform “Sign of the Times” April 15 on Saturday Night Live. A week later, he’ll also perform on the hit British talk show The Graham Norton Show, which is broadcast stateside on BBC America.
