AstralwerksHalsey continues to rack up more career milestones.  Her second album, hopeless fountain kingdom, is on track for a #1 debut on the Billboard album chart.

The disc, released June 2, could sell 110,000 equivalent album units, according to Billboard.  Halsey’s first album, Badlands, which debuted at #2 in 2015, has since gone platinum plus.  Following the release of Badlands, Halsey sold out a show at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden.

hopeless fountain kingdom features the single “Now or Never,” which is Halsey’s first top-40 pop hit as a lead artist.  Of course, she spent 12 weeks at #1 as a featured artist on The Chainsmokers “Closer.”

As previously reported, hopeless fountain kingdom features guest appearances by Fifth Harmony‘s Lauren Jauregui, Cashmere Cat, and Quavo of Migos

As far as the album’s unusual title, Halsey told Entertainment Weekly that it’s a phrase her friend used to describe the life they were all living in New York City, “in this fantasy, upside-down world where everyone I knew was doing drugs and didn’t have jobs and everyone was f***ing each other.”

Halsey will kick off an eight-week North American tour September 29 in Uncasville, Connecticut,  with Charli XCX and PartyNextDoor as supporting acts.
