Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei owns the night on “Dancing with the Stars”

ABC/Craig SjodinOn Monday night’s Dancing with the Stars, the pressure continued to build for Week 8 after last week’s double elimination.

With only five stars left, it quickly became clear after her first dance that the night belonged to Fifth Harmony stunner Normani Kordei.

The 20-year-old singer continued to shine, bringing in her second perfect score with her partner Val Chmerkovskiy in a contemporary dance to “Freedom” by Anthony Hamilton and Elayna Boynton. The judges were resoundingly positive in their critique, with Len Goodman noting that during her performance, “Throughout that dance you could have heard a pin drop from this whole audience. They were spellbound and so was I.”

Kordei’s dance was punctuated by a pre-taped segment in which she shared an emotional story of being bullied and harassed on social media, feeling alone and declaring, “We all want to be loved and we all want to feel accepted; when that doesn’t happen, it just breaks you.” But in spite of this, Kordei made lemonade and dazzled viewers with her performance.

In her second dance of the night, Kordei confessed she thinks Bonner Bolton “is hot,” and sizzled in a pair of Daisy Dukes and red cowboy boots in a country-flavored jive to “Feeling Alive” by Earl St. Clair with partner Val and trio addition Alan Bersten — with a special appearance by her crush, Bolton. The judges were equally enthusiastic, except for crusty old Goodman who apparently docked her a point for dancing on the judges desk, which he was booed for.

At this point it looks like the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy is hers to lose.

Dancing with the Stars airs Monday nights on ABC.
