Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagicIt seems like we’ve been waiting for Fergie‘s Double Dutchess forever.  She’s been talking about the album since 2013, released  “M.I.L.F. $” and “Life Goes On” as singles last year, but still no concrete news about the followup to her 2006 solo smash The Duchess.  That is until late Wednesday, when BMG announced that it was partnering with Fergie on a new label — Dutchess Music — which will release Double Dutchess later this year.

“now u know, been working on the low…. #bossmoves take time… thank u for being so patient, I love u!!!” Fergie wrote on Facebook, posting a link to the official announcement.

She also said in a statement, “This new era, which includes starting my own label and creating a global partnership with BMG, is a dream come true. It’s an opportunity to release my solo music as well as develop and nurture new artists. This next chapter in my career will allow me the independence to evolve both as an artist and as a businesswoman.”

Still no date announced for the album’s release, but BMG says “new music is expected to begin its rollout towards the ens of the summer.”
