Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles & Katy Perry nominated for BBC Music Awards

943

ABC/Paula LoboEd Sheeran, Katy Perry and Harry Styles are among the big names nominated for this year’s BBC Music Awards.  That’s the good news: the bad news is that there won’t be any actual ceremony for the stars to attend.

As the BBC reports, the show has been scaled back this year, so there are only a few categories, so the winners will be revealed during a TV show airing December 8 called The Year in Music 2017.   It will look back on the biggest music stories of the year, as told by the musicians involved with them.

Ed and Harry are up for BBC Music Artist of the Year, along with Lorde, Kendrick Lamar, Rag N Bone Man and superstar British hip-hop artist Stormzy

In addition, Ed’s album Divide is up for BBC British Album of the Year, and his competition in that category includes Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, by his pal Taylor Swift‘s old boyfriend, Calvin Harris.

Katy is up for BBC Music Live Performance of the Year for her set at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend concert.  She’s up against the likes of U2 and Foo Fighters.
