CMTThe Backstreet Boys and Phillip Phillips are going country tonight.  Both artists will appear on CMT’s Artists of the Year special, airing live from Nashville at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The Backstreet Boys will be on hand to honor their pals, superstar country duo Florida Georgia Line.  The two acts teamed up earlier this year for a series of concerts, and recorded the #1 country hit “God, Your Mama and Me.”  As for Phillip, he’ll be saluting Sam Hunt for his smash hit “Body Like a Back Road.”  Both Phillip and Sam are from Georgia.

This year’s CMT Artists of the Year special will be less of an awards show and more of a night of “hope and healing,” following the mass shooting in Las Vegas and the recent natural disasters.

In addition to Sam Hunt and Florida Georgia line, others who’ll be appearing on the show include Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton, country group Little Big Town, rapper/actor Common, R&B singer Andra Day, Lionel Richie, and superstar honorees Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan and Chris Stapleton.
