Will Heath/NBCAriana Grande isn’t the only one using social media this week to hit back at unfair assumptions about her love life.

Ari’s rumored new boyfriend, Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, has refuted online criticism that he’s unable to maintain a relationship because of his mental illness. Davidson revealed last year that he was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.

“Normally I wouldn’t comment on something like this cause, like, f*** you,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “But I been hearing a lot of ‘people with bpd can’t be in relationships’ talk. I just wanna let you know that’s not true.”

He added, “Just because someone has a mental illness does not mean they can’t be happy and in a relationship.”

Davidson continued, “It also doesn’t mean that person makes the relationship toxic. Everybody is different and there are a lot of treatments for mental illnesses and I have done/am doing all of them. And I encourage those who struggle to seek help as well it has changed my life for the better.”

He called out those who “stigmatize people as crazy,” saying, “I may be crazy but at least I’m aware of it and not afraid to be honest about it and I’m not hiding behind a Twitter or Instagram account.”

Rumors began swirling that Davidson and Ariana were dating following Ariana’s break-up with Mac Miller. Earlier this week, Ariana hit back at a Twitter user who seemingly blamed her for Mac’s recent DUI and car accident.
