Vivica A. Fox Formally Apologizes for Anti-Gay Comments: “I’m a Friend and Supporter of the LGBT Community”

ABC/Lorenzo Bevilaqua(LOS ANGELES) — Vivica A. Fox is formally apologizing to her LGBT supporters for the recent comments she made that were viewed as anti-gay. Earlier this week, the actress started a social media firestorm when she strongly suggested that gay men were not the target audience for her male revue.

Now in an interview with Hollywood Today Live, the actress is once again apologizing, saying that her new Lifetime reality series, Vivica’s Black Magic, “is for everyone.”

“I just want to take a moment to say right now, I have been a friend and a supporter of the LGBT community for years,” Fox says as she turns and looks directly into the camera. “I would absolutely do nothing to offend or not support you guys. If I offended any of you guys — you guys are like family to me — I apologize. Everyone is welcomed to enjoy Vivica’s Black Magic.”

As previously reported, Vivica’s Black Magic director and producer, Jean-Claude LaMarre told TMZ he’s officially cutting ties with the actress after her remarks. “The comments were out of order, and it does not represent our attitudes toward the LGBT community. All are welcomed,” LaMarre told the gossip site.

Pay Gap: Natalie Portman Was Paid Three Times Less than Ashton Kutcher for Forgettable Movie

Andrew Lipovsky/NBC(LONDON) — In 2011, Natalie Portman won an Oscar for Black Swan. It was also the year she earned three times less than Ashton Kutcher, her co-star in a flop of a romantic comedy called No Strings Attached.

The actress, who many feel will again be on the Oscar short list for the lead role in Jackie, tells Marie Claire UK that the pay gap stung. “I wasn’t as pi**** as I should have been. I mean, we get paid a lot, so it’s hard to complain, but the disparity is crazy.”

The 35-year-old notes, “Compared to men, in most professions, women make 80 cents to the dollar,” but added, “In Hollywood, we are making 30 cents to the dollar.”

“We just have a clear issue with women not having opportunities,” Portman said. “We need to be part of the solution, not perpetuating the problem.”

In 2015, Jennifer Lawrence also opened up about the gender pay gap in Hollywood, when she penned an op-ed piece for Lena Dunham’s newsletter Lenny about how she was paid significantly less than her male co-stars in 2013’s American Hustle.

Since then, other stars, including Patricia Arquette, Sienna Miller, Gwyneth Paltrow and Bradley Cooper, have spoken out about the wage gap.

Incidentally, Lawrence was the highest paid actress in Hollywood for the past two years, with a 2016 haul of $46 million, according to Forbes.

Alec Baldwin Says He’s Looking for “Other Venues” to Spoof Trump

LR: John Goodman as Rex Tillerson, Beck Bennett as Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump; Will Heath/NBC(NEW YORK) — Alec Baldwin has played President-elect Donald Trump for Saturday Night Live since last year, and he’s not planning to stop any time soon.

In fact, the actor, who hosts the ABC game show The Match Game, told ABC News that while SNL is a major time commitment, he’ll continue to “do it some.” Baldwin also said that at some point, his Trump impersonation may not be limited to the occasional SNL appearance.

“I’m gonna do [it] as much as I can,” he said, “and there’s discussions about other venues we might pursue to further express our gratitude and admiration for the Trump administration.”

There is a “presidential” precedent here; Will Ferrell brought his popular imitation of George W. Bush to Broadway, in a show called, You’re Welcome America. A Final Night with George W. Bush, which was filmed for HBO and aired at the close of the president’s second term.

Baldwin, 58, said Match Game is, “one of the most fun things I’ve ever done,” noting of the Wednesday night show, “We’re not really influencing anybody’s political opinions here. We’re here just to have a good time and tell some jokes and have it be silly and fun.”

Impersonating Trump hasn’t been too bad for the actor either. When asked about the president-elect and his plans to hold him accountable over the next four years, Baldwin said that he won’t have to do anything, and credited Trump with being “the head writer of all the material we do.”

“We just sit back and we look at Twitter, we read the news and we go, ‘There it is!’ And we probably should be, according to the WGA [Writers Guild of America], giving Trump some writing credits for what he’s done for us,” he said. “We’re just gonna sit back and just let the good times roll.”

Be Idris Elba’s Valentine in New Omaze Charity Campaign

Omaze – 2017(LONDON) — Idris Elba, arguably one of the hottest stars on the big and small screen, has just offered to take you out for Valentine’s Day.

Well, not you specifically — unless you win Omaze’s latest charity experience.

For a measly $10, according to the site, you get 100 chances to win the opportunity to join the unfairly handsome and suave star of Luther and Star Trek Beyond, “for some quality time over the most delicious meal of your life.”

“Feel all the feelings that go along with being Idris’ Valentine,” the site notes, adding the caveat, “It won’t actually be Valentine’s Day, but Idris will make you feel like it is.”

Best of all, it’s all for a good cause.

The grand prize includes airfare and a 4-star hotel room, and dinner with Idris at one of his favorite restaurants. You even get an extra seat at dinner with the star for a friend…as if you’d let somebody else hog the experience.

As is always the case with Omaze, the more you donate can score you other perks as well, such as autographed swag, and a thank you message from the man himself.

The contest will benefit the actor and recording artist’s favorite charity, W.E. Can Lead, which safeguards educations for girls in Africa.

It’s Official: Woody Harrelson Joins Young Han Solo “Star Wars” Film

Alexander Koerner/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Woody Harrelson has officially stepped into that galaxy far, far away. Lucasfilm has confirmed the Oscar-nominated actor has joined the cast of the second “anthology” Star Wars film, this one centering on a young Han Solo.

Alden Ehrenreich is stepping into Harrison Ford’s boots as a younger version of the smuggler and space pirate, while newly-minted Golden Globe winner Donald Glover will play a young version of Billy Dee Williams’ suave scoundrel Lando Calrissian. Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke will also appear in a still-to-be-announced role.

It is rumored that Harrelson will be playing a mentor of sorts to the young Solo, who was orphaned at an early age and became a pickpocket before winning his prized ship, the Millennium Falcon, from Lando in a dice game.  Of course, he eventually became a general in the Rebel Alliance.

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody,” the film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller said in a statement posted on StarWars.com. “His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”

The Han Solo stand-alone film will hit theaters in 2018.

Lucasfilm and ABC News share a parent company in Disney.

Andrew Garfield Says Ryan Reynolds “Very Keen” on Golden Globes Kiss

ABC/Randy Holmes(NEW YORK)– On Good Morning America Wednesday, Silence star Andrew Garfield talked about one of the biggest viral moments from Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards: when he full-on smooched Ryan Reynolds after Reynolds lost the award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy category to Ryan Gosling.

The inside joke was caught by a camera panning to catch the La La Land star’s walk to the podium.  Garfield explained the moment to GMA‘s Michael Strahan.

“To Ryan Reynolds, I said, ‘If you win, I think we should kiss before you go up there.’ He was very kind of keen on the idea, as I knew he would be,” Garfield smiled.

“And then when he didn’t win, I was disappointed for him, and mostly disappointed that our plan couldn’t come to fruition. And then I said, ‘We could [still kiss]– whether you win or lose — we can still just enjoy the moment.'”

He added sardonically, “It was just my way of showing my appreciation for him, and y’know, saying, ‘You’re enough, no matter if you win or lose.'”

Adding another layer to the smooch is the fact that Garfield used to play Spider-Man onscreen.  In the comics, Deadpool –played onscreen by Reynolds — has a huge man-crush on Spidey.

Charlie Sheen “Carrying the Torch” for Others Battling HIV

Rodin Eckenroth/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) — In a wide-ranging interview with ABC News’ Michael Strahan that aired today on Good Morning America, Charlie Sheen opened up about his public meltdown, and his diagnosis of HIV, the disease that causes AIDS.

“I feel like I’m carrying the torch for a lot of folks out there that are suffering from the same thing,” the former Two and a Half Men star explained.

“The day I was diagnosed, I immediately wanted to eat a bullet,” Sheen admitted. “But my mom was there, I wouldn’t do that in front of her, or let her find me to clean up that mess.”

“But then, something else came over me. They gave me a handful of pills and said, ‘You can go home now, and you’re going to live,'” Sheen said.

“If I was there with, you know, brain cancer or, or, a stomach thing, or some meningitis,” Sheen added, “We wouldn’t be sitting here right now.”

Sheen said he is “grateful” for the health care he has received since being diagnosed with the disease that effects more than 1.2 million people in the U.S., according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“I’m so grateful for what was available when it happened,” Sheen said, “and even more grateful for what’s available right now, when I’m, I’m in the middle of it, you know?”

Sheen added that some days, “are better than others,” but allows, “most days are pretty frickin’ cool.”

Sheen said that he has been a part of a Food and Drug Administration Study for a new HIV treatment, “a medication for a drug called PRO-140.” Sheen added the treatment is in the “late stages” of its trial, and, “very close to being approved.”

“It’s not this hideous cocktail that, that, that leads to so many side effects and, and just, just so much disdain, you know, emotionally and physically. It’s one shot a week, and there’s no side effects,” Sheen said.

The Major League actor went public with his HIV diagnosis in November 2015, four years after he was first diagnosed. Currently, he told Strahan that he feels “really good.”

After a four year film hiatus, Sheen will appear in Mad Families, a comedy about three families from different backgrounds forced to spend a vacation together.

The movie debuts on the streaming service Crackle on Thursday.

Jamie Foxx Dismisses Hollywood Fight Reports

CBS/Terence Patrick(LOS ANGELES) — Jamie Foxx is laughing off reports that he was attacked at a West Hollywood restaurant over the weekend.

The Oscar-winning actor took to Instagram to set the record straight about an alleged fight between him and a restaurant patron on Saturday night. “I know you heard all about this s***, and saw some videos, I just want to address what happened on Saturday,” Foxx says as he holds a towel over his right eye.

“From my perspective, all I was trying to…,” the actor says as he removes the towel to reveal a crossed eye, which was uninjured. He then adds, “I’m just f****** with you all, everybody is good.”

After he uncrosses his eye, Fox continues on a more uplifting note.

“Listen 2017, we don’t want no violence,” he says. “We don’t wanna get hurt, and we don’t want nobody hurt.” Jamie then proceeded to promote his upcoming film Sleepless with a strategic pan to his movie’s poster.

TMZ claimed Foxx was attacked by a patron at Catch restaurant in West Hollywood after the man told Foxx, “You don’t want to mess with me. I’m from New York.”

The gossip site claims Foxx was “forced to defend himself,” and ended up subduing the rowdy patron.
