Corrine Olympios returning for “Bachelor in Paradise”

ABC/Jeff Daly(LOS ANGELES) — Corrine Olympios, the woman at the center of an alleged sex scandal on the set of ABC’s Bachelor in Paradise, will join the man at the center of the scandal, DeMario Jackson, in an upcoming reunion special, according to a statement obtained by Us Weekly on Wednesday.

“I am very happy to be appearing on the Bachelor in Paradise special,” says Olympios in the statement.

The alleged misconduct, involving Olympios and Jackson, caused a weeks-long suspension of the show’s production.

Jackson was ultimately cleared of any wrongdoing.

Olympios released a statement last month explaining that she wouldn’t be completing the season, but that she was satisfied with ABC’s decision to “implement certain changes to the show’s policies and procedures to enhance and further ensure the safety and security of all participants.”

Also on Wednesday, ABC announced that Bachelor in Paradise will return for its fourth season with a two-night premiere, starting August 14.

Former “Dance Moms” star Abby Lee Miller reports to prison

Lifetime/Karolina Wojtasik(CALIFORNIA) — Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller arrived at 12:25 p.m. to the Federal Correctional Complex, Satellite Prison Camp, in Victorville, California, on Wednesday according to a public information officer at the prison.

Miller was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison for bankruptcy fraud earlier this year.

However, U.S. District Court Judge Joy Flowers Conti told Miller she could transition to a halfway house after serving 10 months of her sentence.

“This is an extremely emotional day for Ms. Miller,” her attorney, Robert Ridge, told ABC News. “Earlier today, Ms. Miller expressed to us that she is looking forward to starting the process of completing her obligations set by the court. She has accepted that this matter will never truly be ‘behind her’, but this chapter of the process has begun and there is now an end in sight.”

According to ABC affiliate WTAE in Pittsburgh, where Miller was tried, she was also ordered to pay $40,000 in fines and to spend two years on supervised release.

Miller was indicted on fraud charges in 2015 for allegedly hiding about $775,000 in income to gain better terms to restructure her debt. She also was accused of bringing $120,000 worth of Australian currency into the country without reporting it. However, the reality TV star, who pleaded guilty in 2016, said she was “not intentionally” trying to hide anything and “wasn’t trying to hurt anyone.”

After her sentencing, Miller said that she planned to spend her time behind bars reading, writing and learning Spanish.

Katy Perry reportedly selling her Hollywood Hills compound for $15 million

Rony AlwinKaty Perry is juggling a few properties in Los Angeles, including the California convent she earned the right to purchase after a two-year legal battle with a couple of nuns. But now it appears she’s letting one go. She may be “Chained to the Rhythm,” but she’s not chained to her real estate!

According to Variety, the singer has quietly listed her Hollywood Hills compound for around $15 million. The compound contains two houses, set on four sprawling acres at the top of Runyon Canyon Park. The smaller residence features gardens and a swimming pool, and was previously owned by Jake Gyllenhaal’s parents, Naomi Foner and Stephen Gyllenhaal.

The larger, Mediterranean house next door has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a semi-detached guesthouse and a barn.

Katy also owns a nearly $18 million Beverly Hills home. Earlier this year, a judge ruled that she could purchase the Los Feliz convent from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for $14.5 million.

“It’s not the years, honey. It’s the mileage”: Harrison Ford turns 75

Getty Images/Kevin Winter(LOS ANGELES) — He cheated death at the hands of Imperial Stormtroopers, spear-wielding South American natives, Indian voodoo warriors, and in real life, a vintage airplane he crashed onto a California golf course: yes, Harrison Ford turns 75 today.

Born July 13, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Ford went from being a bullied kid to a struggling actor making ends meet by doing carpentry work for up-and-coming filmmakers like Francis Ford Coppola, to being the highest-grossing actor in history.

A job installing a door for director Coppola led to small roles in Coppola’s The Conversation and Apocalypse Now and eventually — apparently accidentally — Ford’s role as Han Solo in the Star Warssaga. Coppola’s pal George Lucas had already cast Ford in a small role in American Graffiti, but wanted fresh faces for the space epic, so didn’t consider him. Instead, Ford was used to help audition other actors, but wound up winning the role himself.

Fame followed when Star Wars became a phenomenon. Between the releases of sequels The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, in 1980 and 1983, respectively, Ford also played adventuring archaeologist Indiana Jones in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark and 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom — a role he reprised twice more, most recently in 2012’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

As Ford himself has pointed out, he wasn’t Lucas’ first choice for Indy, either: Tom Selleck couldn’t get out of his Magnum P.I. contract.

Nevertheless, Ford went on to star in classics like Ridley Scott’s 1982 seminal sci-fi movie Blade Runner. He scored a Best Actor nomination for 1985’s Witness, and won acclaim for playing a single-minded inventor in 1986’s The Mosquito Coast. He also starred opposite Melanie Griffith in the hit 1987 comedy Working Girl, and in the ’90s, Ford replaced Alec Baldwin in the role of Jack Ryan in Tom Clancy-book-based Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger, as well as in the hits Presumed Innocent, The Fugitive, and Air Force One.

In 2010, he married Supergirl actress Calista Flockhart, and in 2015, he was seen one last time as Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens — a film on which he suffered a badly broken leg, thanks to the malfunction of a prop door on set.

An avid aviator, Ford was seriously injured in March of 2015, when the vintage World War II-era plane he was flying crashed shortly after takeoff from California’s Santa Monica Municipal Airport. The plane’s engine apparently quit, and Ford was forced to land on a golf course while attempting to return to the airport.

In February of this year, he had a near miss with a commercial aircraft when — to his embarrassment — he landed on the wrong runway at California’s John Wayne Airport.

Shriver founded the Special Olympics in 1968 and the organization now stands as the world’s largest sports organization for millions of children and adults living with intellectual disabilities in more than 100 countries.

Shriver, who died in 2009, was mother to Maria Shriver and sister of the late President John F. Kennedy. She was inspired to start the Special Olympics because her sister Rosemary was born with intellectual disabilities.

Shriver’s son Timothy, who now serves as chair for the organization, accepted the award on his mother’s behalf and was joined by a handful of Special Olympians.

“Our mother would have loved you,” he told Obama. “She would have been so honored that you are here for her tonight, as we all are.”

Another emotional moment came when die-hard New Orleans Saints fan Jarrius Robertson was honored with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award.

The 15-year-old has had to undergo two liver transplants and more than a dozen surgeries as he suffers from the chronic disease biliary atresia. But this hasn’t stopped him from appearing at the NBA All-Star Weekend and at Saints games, cheering on his favorite players and teams.

Shia LaBeouf apologizes for racist statements caught on tape during arrest

Chatham County Sheriff’s Office(GEORGIA) — Shia LaBeouf is apologizing after video emerged of the actor making racist statements about a black police officer while he was being booked on charges of public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and obstruction in Savannah, Georgia last Saturday.

“I am deeply ashamed of my behavior and make no excuses for it,” the actor wrote Wednesday on Twitter.

LaBeouf continued, “…I am certain that my actions warrant a very sincere apology to the arresting officers, and I am grateful for their restraint.  The severity of my behavior is not lost on me.”

“My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst. It is a new low.  A low I hope is a bottom,” he wrote. “I have been struggling with addiction publicly for far too long, and I am actively taking steps toward securing my sobriety and hope I can be forgiven my mistakes.”

LeBeouf was arrested in the early morning hours of July 8 after an encounter with police.

The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department claims the 31-year-old actor “became disorderly, using profanities and vulgar language in front of the women and children present,” during an encounter with a police officer when he wasn’t given a cigarette.

LaBeouf also allegedly became “aggressive toward the officer.” When the officer tried to arrest LaBeouf, he reportedly ran to a nearby hotel, where his disorderly behavior continued, said the police report.

On Wednesday TMZ posted footage from inside a police station where LaBeouf in which the actor tells a black officer, “You’re going to hell, straight to hell, bro.”  When another officer asks why, LaBoeuf responds, “‘Cause he’s a black man.”

In the video the actor also can be heard accusing the police of racism saying the arrested him “for being white.”

“How to Get Away with Murder” Emmy Winner Viola Davis — ABC/Image Group LA(LOS ANGELES) — Nominees for the 69th Emmy Awards will be announced Thursday morning beginning at 8:20 a.m. Pacific via live streamed video on Emmys.com.

Some Emmy perennials, like Game of Thrones, didn’t have new seasons eligible this year, which may open the door for new nominees.  But several long time favorites are likely to be nominated again including HBO’s political comedy Veep and its star Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Other longtime Emmy favorites likely to receive nominations include How to Get Away with Murderactress Viola Davis and Transparent actor Jeffrey Tambor.

With no Game of Thrones, new shows could make hay like Netflix’s Queen Elizabeth bioseries The Crown, and  its lead actress Claire Foy;  Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and it’s lead, Elisabeth Moss; and HBO’s Westworld

And while the drama category has been dominated by cable shows for a decade, one new network series, NBC’s This Is Us, is likely to earn a number of nominations, including one for star Sterling K. Brown.  Of course there’s also the pop phenomenon that was Netflix’s Stranger Things.

Another new show — Atlanta — and its star — Donald Glover — are likely to receive nominations in the comedy categories.

In the Limited Series category, eyes will be on big names like Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidmanand their HBO series Big Little Lies, though FX’s Fargo is also a perennial contender, and there’s speculation that there will be nominations for this season’s stars Ewan McGregor and Carrie Coon.

McGregor, Witherspoon and Kidman aren’t the only movie stars in the running: There’s Robert DeNiro, who played fraudster Bernie Madoff in HBO’s The Wizard of Lies, Kevin Spacey in House of Cardsand John Turturro who appeared in HBO’s The Night Of.

We’ll know later today who the nominees are, then we can start speculating about the winners.

Oops! Britney Spears is not performing at the Super Bowl, says PepsiCo exec

Randee St. NicholasOops…she’s not doing it again.  Despite rumors, a PepsiCo exec says that Britney Spears won’t be playing the halftime show at the Super Bowl next year.

As previously reported, the New York Daily News claimed that Britney’s team was in secret meetings to arrange for the singer to play the halftime show at Super Bowl LII, scheduled for February 4 in Minneapolis.  She’d previously performed on the 2001 halftime show, along with ‘N SYNC, Aerosmith, Nelly and Mary J. Blige.

But now, Variety reports that during a panel at the Venues Now Conference in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, Justin Toman, PepsiCo’s head of sports marketing, said, “I can tell you it’s not Britney.”  That was in response to the panel’s moderator, who asked for a hint about next year’s performer.

“We’ll reveal in due time,” said Toman, according to Variety, noting that “rumors always start around this time.”

Toman said when it comes to booking the halftime show, “It’s us, the artist and the NFL, and at the end, everybody has to align.”

This year’s Super Bowl halftime show was headlined by Lady Gaga, and the NFL later claimed that her performance was the most-watched musical event of all time…if you count up how many people watched on all the platforms on which it was available.  According to the NFL, Gaga’s set reached more than 150 million unique viewers.
