AJ McLean, ‘My Name Is Alexander James’ (Tyler Shields)

After sharing a few of the dates for his upcoming solo tour, Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean said in May that he’d drop the rest of them on Father’s Day — and he did.

AJ announced on Instagram the full lineup of dates and cities for the trek. He wrote, “For over 30 years, you’ve known me as AJ… This fall, I’m inviting you into a different chapter. I’m excited to announce The Better Man Tour, my first North American solo tour as Alexander James.”

“These songs come from the most personal project I’ve ever made,” he continued. “[My solo album] My Name Is Alexander James is about growth, gratitude, healing, and finding the courage to show up as your true self. Thank you for always showing up for me. Now it’s my turn to show up for you.”

The tour starts Oct. 20 in Brooklyn, New York, and is set to wrap up Dec. 5 in Tucson, Arizona. The dates will take place after Backstreet Boys are done with their residency in Düsseldorf, Germany, which runs from Sept. 25 through Oct. 7.

No ‘Ordinary’ accomplishment: Alex Warren bests Miley Cyrus’ chart record

Alex Warren (Jack Dytrych)

It’s an “Ordinary” world and we just live in it.

Alex Warren’s smash hit has just set a new record: It’s spent a combined total of 107 weeks at #1 on Billboard‘s various charts. The previous record of 106 weeks was set by “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus.

This means that “Ordinary” has been #1 for multiple weeks on multiple charts. For example, it’s racked 34 weeks and counting at #1 on Billboard‘s Adult Contemporary chart, and was on top for 30 weeks on Adult Pop Airplay. On Pop Airplay, it was #1 for 16 weeks. And on the Radio Songs chart, which includes all radio formats, it was #1 for 27 weeks.

“Ordinary” and “Flowers” are the only two songs ever to spend triple-digit weeks at #1. The next-longest reign is 87 weeks, held by The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.” “Despacito” is next with 74 weeks, followed by “Blurred Lines” with 72 weeks.

In other Alex Warren news, he spent Father’s Day mourning his late dad, who died of kidney cancer when Alex was nine. He posted a photo of the two of them together and wrote, “Dad, you taught me everything I know today except how to live without you. You may be gone from this world but you’re still everywhere in mine.”

“In everything I do you’re there. Whenever I cry you’re in my tears, whenever I laugh it’s your voice I hear. At every show I still look for you in the crowd. I love you.”

Both of Alex’s parents are deceased, a fact he frequently references in his music and while onstage.

Katy Perry has launched her Out of Office tour of summer festivals, and when it comes to her wardrobe, everything old is new again.

Every night of the tour, Katy is wearing a throwback outfit from either her 2009 debut Hello, Katy tour or her 2008 stint on the Warped Tour. She’s then putting each outfit up for sale in a Fandiem sweepstakes, with new looks added after every show.

The more money you donate, the more entries for each drawing you will receive. For example, $15 will get you 150 entries, while 100 bucks gets you 2,000 entries. The money raised will go to Katy’s Firework Foundation, which works to empower children from underserved communities through the arts.

So far, you can enter to win two outfits. The first is a two-piece polka dot bra and skirt top she wore June 18 at a festival in Spain. It’s originally from the the Hello, Katy tour and is available until July 11.

There’s also a two-piece blue outfit with a pink bow, which she originally wore in 2009 in Lisbon, Portugal, during the Hello Katy tour. She re-wore it June 20 at the Rock in Rio Lisboa Festival in Lisbon; that one is available until July 13.

The horror film Obsession fell from #2 to #3. The only other new entries in the top 10 were the supernatural horror film Leviticus, at #8, and Hugh Jackman’s A24 drama The Death of Robin Hood, in ninth place.

Dua Lipa has finally given fans a good look at the gown she wore for her and Callum Turner’s June 6 wedding celebration in Sicily. She posted a carousel of photos on Instagram, captioning it, “Mr & Mrs.”

Dua wore a custom Chanel Haute Couture wedding gown with a halter neckline and a plunging back, decorated with crystals and feathers. A feathered headpiece, a six-foot train and long veil completed the look. Four hundred and eighty thousand beads and 25,000 feathers were used to create the gown, which took over 1,100 hours of needlework. The veil, embroidered with birds and flowers, took another 3,000 hours of handwork.

You can get a closer look at the work that went into the gown on Chanel’s official Instagram

According to ELLE, it was the first Chanel Haute Couture wedding gown to be designed by Chanel artistic director Matthieu Blazy for a “friend of the house,” which is what Dua is.

As for Callum, he wore a black Louis Vuitton tux designed by Pharrell Williams, with a black bowtie and a hand-crafted red peony in his lapel, according to ELLE.

After Dua posted the wedding photos, some of her famous pals chimed in with well wishes. Elton John wrote, “Congratulations, an honour to have been there to celebrate your love.” Elton reportedly serenaded the couple with his hit “Your Song” at the Sicily ceremony.

Katy Perry commented, “sweetie babies,” while Gracie Abrams wrote, “Can’t handle it.” Justin Timberlake wrote, “Congrats, you 2!!!”

Dua and Callum first tied the knot May 31 in an intimate ceremony in London; Dua wore a Schiaparelli skirt suit and a big white hat.

Legendary director James Burrows has died, his agent confirmed to ABC News on Friday. He was 85.

Burrows is known for directing some of the most iconic shows on television, from Cheers and Taxi to Will & Grace and Frasier.

Throughout his illustrious career, Burrows won 11 Emmys and five Directors Guild of America Awards. The Directors Guild of America also honored Burrows in 2015 with a lifetime achievement award. He was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2006.

“Jimmy was the greatest comedic television director in the history of the medium,” his agent, Rick Rosen, said in a statement to ABC News. “He directed the most iconic, defining shows of generations. Always a gentleman, it was an absolute honor to represent him.”

Born on Dec. 30, 1940, Burrows made his mark across many television shows in the mid 1970s, directing episodes for several television series in 1975 including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Phyllis and The Bob Newhart Show.

He also helmed episodes of Laverne & Shirley, The Betty White Show, Rhoda and more, before a long stint as director for the TV sitcom Taxi starting in 1978. Burrows directed the first four seasons of the series, which focused on the everyday lives of New York City taxi drivers.

While speaking to the Television Academy in 2025, Burrows said his job as a director on Taxi was to “mold” the actors “into an ensemble.”

“I’m not sure how much the actors learned from me, but I learned a lot about how to deal with people because of that show,” he said.

Following Taxi, Burrows directed several other TV shows as well as the 1988 television movie The Nerd, prior to directing Cheers starting in 1982. He was also a co-creator on the show, and directed 237 episodes.

In 2003, Burrows told Conan O’Brien that it was a “wonderful experience.”

“It was so smooth, it was scary, how the process went,” Burrows said about the writing, cast and crew.

The show won a total of 28 Primetime Emmy Awards, with Burrows winning two for directing.

Burrows went on to direct more television shows after Cheers, including Frasier, Will & Grace and Friends.

When asked in an interview in 2003 by the Television Academy about how he wanted to be remembered, Burrows said, “That every night forever you can tune in somewhere and there’ll be a show I did.”
