ABC/Phil McCartenYou know all those reports claiming that will.i.am has “confirmed” that Fergie has left the Black Eyed Peas? Don’t believe them.
Will retweeted one such report, from Britain’s Official Charts Company, and added, “Lies…@Fergie is focusing on #DoubleDutchess & @BEP is doing #MastersOfTheSun…That doesn’t mean @fergie is out of the group #BEP4ever.”
However, will acknowledged in another tweet, “People will report what ever they want to report regardless of the sources… It’s a crazy world…”
Double Dutchess is Fergie’s long-awaited new solo album. Masters of the Sun is a new project that will describes as “not a traditional “album”… It’s multi dimensional, innovative, deep, technical, NEXTlevel!!!”
A rep for the Peas also provided ABC Radio with a statement from will, in which he said, “Fergie is family and will always be a Pea. She is focused on her solo album which we fully support.”
The Black Eyed Peas will perform this Sunday — without Fergie — at Ariana Grande‘s One Love Manchester benefit concert for the victims of the May 22 Manchester concert attack and their families. No doubt “Where Is the Love” will be part of the set list.
