ABC(LOS ANGELES) — Who will be the new champion of Dancing with the Stars? We will find out this week, when ABC airs the two-part season finale.
ABC News meteorologist Ginger Zee, deaf model Nyle DiMarco and UFC fighter Paige VanZant are all in contention to win the Mirror Ball trophy. But Zee is facing adversity having injured her pelvis earlier this week during rehearsals for a contemporary routine with her professional partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, but she plans to compete in the finale.
On Monday night’s one-hour edition of Dancing with the Stars, which begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time, each couple will perform two dances: a redemption style dance and a freestyle routine.
The following night, the couples will take part in a “24-Hour Fusion Challenge,” in which they will fuse two contrasting dance styles with less than 24 hours’ preparation. That challenge, along with the votes and judges’ points from last week’s and Monday’s performance shows, will determine the winner of season 22. The champ will be revealed in the final moments of Tuesday’s show.
