But the comedian made a special appearance at the start of the Miss USA pageant Sunday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to give the shows co-hosts, Terrence Jenkins and Julianne Hough, some advice. E! Online has a clip of the funny skit.

“First thing I would tell you is no matter what happens, under no circumstances do you say Miss Colombia,” Steve tells Terrence, poking fun at his mistake. “Just don’t go nowhere near it. Don’t mention Colombia, period. Coffee, nothing.”

Steve, as you’ll remember, accidentally announced Miss Colombia the winner of Miss Universe, when it was actually Miss Philippines.

Terrence then asks what to do if she’s from the District of Columbia or Columbus, Ohio.

“Don’t say it. Stay away from it. Nothing,” Steve advises. “Shut your mouth.”

As it happened, it was Miss District of Columbia — 26-year-old Army officer Deshauna Barber — who was crowned Miss USA.  She now goes on to represent the U.S. in the Miss Universe pageant.
