Kevin Winter/Getty Images(CHANHASSEN, Minn.) — Authorities have obtained a search warrant for Prince’s Paisley Park estate, but the court has authorized sealing it, ABC News confirmed Thursday.

Disclosing the details of what the sheriff’s deputies are searching for, court documents say, could compromise the investigation.

The paperwork was filed one day after law enforcement sources told ABC News that prescription drugs were found in Prince’s possession and at his home.

The Carver County Sheriff’s Office has contacted the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration about the possibility of assisting in the investigation if the pharmaceuticals are found to be related to the singer’s death.

The sheriff’s office says no active work is being done by the DEA at this time because the toxicology work has yet to be completed.

The DEA routinely assists local authorities in investigations involving prescription drugs, and a DEA official says the agency stands ready to assist if it is needed.

The week before Prince died at the age of 57, he was rushed to the hospital in Illinois, where, his rep told ABC News, he was treated for the flu.

Then, last Thursday, the music legend was pronounced dead at his Paisley Park residence in Minnesota. The next day, the chief medical examiner at the Midwest Medical Examiner’s office performed an autopsy on the singer’s body to determine his cause of death. A report, which will include toxicology results, could “likely take weeks,” according to the medical examiner’s office.
